  • Bennis Walters

    (July 18, 1947 – July 30, 2013)
    Bennis as owner was involved in every aspect of the company from truck driver, equipment operator to executive management; he took a hands-on approach to growing this business.  His work ethic and dedication was a great example for us to follow as we move forward.  

  • Scottie Walters, President

    Scottie began working with the company while attending Jones County Junior College in 1989 working after school and on weekends.  He started out as a laborer while learning how to operate equipment and drive a truck.  After learning the construction side of the business he soon began learning the administrative and management side of the business, to where he is now making all executive decision and overseeing all bids and project management.


  • Bryan Walters, Vice President

    Bryan began working for the company out of high school in 1992, he also started has a laborer learning how to operate equipment and drive a truck. After becoming a skilled equipment operator and truck driver he began learning the administrative and management side of the trucking business. Now is overseeing all the trucking and equipment operations and manages all personnel matters.

  • Brenda Walters, Secretary/Treasurer

    Brenda has been with the company since its conception as co-owner. She has been vital to the growth of the business by taking on the roles of administrative assistant to office manager in the early years of the business. Now she uses that experience to manage all the office operations and take on her role as Secretary/Treasurer.


  • Tom Rushton, Service Manager

    Tom was hired in 2008 as a part-time Foreman working with our crews in completing punch list items on our projects, in 2009 was promoted to Dispatch/Accounts Receivable.  He had previously for a local poultry processing plant; there he was sales manager for 3 years and plant manager for 22 years before retiring after 25 years of service.

    Rhonda was hired in 1998 as a Payroll Clerk and has taken on various different roles during her time with us and has settled into her position as our Account Payable/Payroll Clerk.

Estimating/Project Management

  • Nelson Byrd, General Superintendent
    Nelson has been in construction since 1971, started with us in 2001 as a Project Superintendent over many projects like:
    • AmSouth Bank Laurel, MS
    • Super Wal-Mart Columbia, MS
    • SAP-34(69) Reconstruction of Doncurt Rd. Laurel, MS
    • Widening of Martin Luther King Ave. Hattiesburg, MS

    In 2004 he was promoted to General Superintendent, and has been managing all aspects of the construction of our projects since.


  • Dan Frith, Consultant/Project Manager

    B.S., Industrial Management from University of Southern Mississippi,
    Dan graduated in 1972, and came to us in 2011with 10 years in production management and 30 years of construction experience in storm water drainage, sewer, water, gas and concrete.  He has been Project Superintendent on projects like:

    Dan has since transitioned to the office, and has taken over responsibility of our more difficult projects.

  • Cameron Lane, Estimator/Project Manager
  • Johnnie Mac Hutto, Materials Manager

    Johnnie Mac Hutto come to work at Walter's in November of 2013 as the sales and materials manager.  Johnnie previously worked at Johnson Sand and Gravel as a sales person for six years.  With Johnnie's knowledge of materials, sales and management, he has become a valuable asset.  Johnny now handles all material sales and coordinates their delivery.

  • Jamie Byrd, Project Superintendent
    Jamie was hired in 2001 as an operator/truck driver, in 2002 was moved into the position of Foreman over all our drainage work. After a few years of service as foreman he was promoted to Project Superintendent in 2004 over several different types of projects like:

  • Michael Sanford, Project Superintendent

    Began his career at Walter's as a laborer.  With hard work and dedication, he advanced to operator and now Project Superintendent. Micheal specializes in water and sewer projects and has worked on several water and sona project.

    His projects include:

    • Anderson Street Sewer Repairs
    • Briarwood Sewer Repairs
  • Jackie Phillips, Project Superintendent

    Jackie Phillips served seven and a half years in the USAF before starting his career in construction.  Jackie has been an operator and superintendant for over 30 years.  He has worked for such companies as J.J. Pryor Construction and Tanner Construction before coming to Walter's in 2014.

    He has worked on the following projects:

    • Culpepper Enterprise from 2000 to 2009 doing pipeline maintenance as an Operator, Truck driver, & Foreman.
    • Welch Enterprise from 2009 to 2012 doing pipeline maintenance as an Operator & Foreman.
    • Hicks Construction from 2012 to 2014 as an Operator, Truck driver & Foreman
    • M&M Plumbing from 2014 to 2016. Worked on septic tank installation and maintenance.
